Witnessed โ€” Terms of Service

Operated by Mirelu ยท Last updated: 29/07/2026

These Terms govern your use of the Witnessed app and services ("Witnessed"). By using Witnessed you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Witnessed.

Witnessed is not an emergency service. It does not contact the police, ambulance, fire brigade, or any public emergency service, and is not a substitute for calling your local emergency number (such as 911, 112, or 999). Witnessed depends on a working device, network connection, and your emergency contacts choosing to respond โ€” delivery is not guaranteed. In a real emergency, always contact official emergency services.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your account, your PIN, and everything done under your account. Keep your PIN and decoy PIN confidential.

2. How Witnessed works & your responsibilities

3. Subscriptions & billing (Guardian)

Witnessed offers an optional paid subscription ("Guardian"). Purchases are billed through Google Play and auto-renew until cancelled. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Google Play account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prices and features may change with notice. Refunds are handled under Google Play's policies.

4. Content & retention

You retain rights to your recordings. You grant us the limited rights needed to store, process, and deliver them to your emergency contacts to provide the service. Retention limits (including automatic deletion on the free plan) are described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Service availability

We aim to keep Witnessed available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alerts, recordings, locations, or notifications will always be delivered or accurate. Features may change or be discontinued.

6. Disclaimers

Witnessed is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that Witnessed will prevent, detect, or resolve any dangerous situation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mirelu is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from reliance on Witnessed, failure or delay of an alert, or the acts of your emergency contacts or third parties. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Termination

You may stop using Witnessed and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service or its users.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by updating the date above. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of FRANCE. Questions: mireludev@gmail.com.
